Calculate Your Body Mass
BMI Info
Body Mass Index or BMI is a calculation tool for indicating weight status. It is a measure of weight for height. BMI is used for adults over 20 years old, and falls into one of the following categories:
| BMI Clinical Guidelines | Weight Status Classification |
|---|---|
| Below 18.5 | Underweight |
| 19.0 - 24.9 | Normal |
| 25.0 - 29.9 | Overweight |
| 30.0 - 34.9 | Class I Obesity (Mild) |
| 35 - 39.9 | Class II Obesity (Moderate) |
| > 40 | Class III Obesity (Extreme) |
BMI is closely correlated with body fat. However, there are limitations to this measurement. It may overestimate body fat in athletes and those that have short stature with a muscular build.
The BMI Formula: weight (lb) / [height (in)]2 x 703
