I want to inspire people to take care of themselves, so it’s especially rewarding to share new information and ideas about diabetes management with my patients.
In addition to being a certified diabetes educator, Sue is a registered and licensed dietitian. Her interest in nutrition and health came from learning to cook from her mother and grandmother. Her career allows her to combine that love of cooking with educating people about eating healthy foods they enjoy. Sue has more than 20 years experience treating patients with diabetes, particularly children. In addition to working at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta as a diabetes program coordinator, she is a longtime volunteer at Camp Kudzu, a camp for children with Type 1 diabetes. She is also very involved with the Greater Atlanta Association of Diabetes Educators (GAADE) and has held several board positions over the years, including president. A native of upstate New York, Sue and her husband are the proud parents of one son and together they enjoy hiking, camping, biking, skiing, skating and boating.
